Theoretical question - boat filled with iron in a canal lock - water level?
level fall. assume boat steel make simpler... steel [boat , cargo] displaces own mass of water. steel [boat , cargo] denser water. steel [boat , cargo] displace greater volume of water actual volume of steel. think hollow empty steel boat; water level above bottom of hull inside; boat holding air. means volume of water pushed aside [and up] make space. if boat filled scrap iron in canal lock , boat sank, happen water level? water level fall, rise, stay same, or depend on mass? thanks... :) Science & Mathematics Physics Next
