Is my monitor dead?

have second monitor hooked laptop, using when of sudden horizontally colapsed, sort of folded in. tried adjusting settings, including degause thing or spell it, nothing. still visible, it's scrunched looks 2 physical folds in image, they're bright in middle. what's up, dead?
