Buying a used mini-truck; nissan hardbody or ford ranger?

if nissan, older , have more miles on it...for same price can newer ranger less miles on (due faster depreciation of ranger). but, here dilemma is; though hardbody older few years, had reputation being bullet-proof in terms of reliability..the ranger did not. so, if got newer ranger, truck older nissan?
