if considered cdn resident, have pay cdn taxes. ditto carrying on cdn business thru pe or fixed base per tax treaties.

have given few facts. however, in general, if come canada on , off, live in hotel in canada, , clients or customers not give "fixed" office work (which constitute pe or fixed base) in or control of working space, may argue not carry on consulting business in cda thru pe or fixed base, , therefore not taxable in canada. of course, u stll have report cdn income tax return. cra lost similar case in fed court of appeal few yrs back.
