Advice on career in philosophy/psychiatry?

need advice career can pursue based on interests. interested in philosophy , trying figure out nature of reality. i'm interested in how mind works (or brain) , how , why substances/chemicals alter perception. based on this, thought psychiatrist , continue studying philosophy. don't want merely psychologist because want know more on how drugs affect mind , how body relates that. however, don't know if support psychiatric practices such ect or drugs. don't know if harmful, yet i'm still interested in finding out more , perhaps revolutionizing psychiatry better. plan, or have other suggestions based on interests?
