no. original writing legally belongs put pen paper. can purchase certificate copyrighted work @ www.copyright.gov, not necessary. long submitting work legitimate institution , not online scam, safe , protected.

people might suggest mail copy of work , leave envelope sealed , dated, proof of authorship. called "poor man's copyright" , not work. has never been upheld in court. can read more on copyright.gov page.

i'm submitting poem wrote poetry contest, think it's idea copyright first?
