depends on school. general rule, more selective school is, better quality of instruction. in places m.i.t. instance, has instructors 5th degree blacks belts , 20 years of experience or more. @ run of mill state college or university pot-bellied white guy champ in youth, overtraining, , overdoing it, led injury kept them out of fitness , deteriorated there, still know martial art. dependent on individual school, generally, more selective school is, better quality of instruction. intramurals, martial arts team gets worked looks bad on school know, in smallest things have reputation uphold. can worse, or better, depends.
