My 1993 pontiac grand prix?

bought 1993 pontiac grand prix , has full tank of gas, , bought new alternator it. problem wont hold charge , when charge it doesn't stay charged long of time. looked @ , dead held charge 4 weeks , dead. gas guage says have little on 1/2 tank of gas full. wrong, there no shorts in electrical system , took 1 of guys has computer checks stuff out , said looked fine, dont know do.
