We forgot to put the plug in the boat! Now what?

have 1990 16ft i/o searay , when took boat out today forgot put plug in!! went out on river 5 people on boat, wouldnt on plane...thought cuz of weight on boat. turned around , saw water, motor got 1/2 covered in water , battery top, not covered in water. pulled boat out, ran bilge & watched water drain. got boat home , wont kick over, we're going change oil & spark plugs. else need do? how broke going fixing this? , why didn't put plug in?? lol (i'm wife , starting panic!)
