Taxable Marital Status?

hi,

residing in on h1b last 3 years.i got married in july 2007 in india , spouse came along me on h-4 visa in july 2007 well.i changed marital status "married" on employers corporate website. did not change w-4 information seperately

received 2007 w-2 , says taxable marital status "single".

question if file 2007 tax return "married filing jointly" create issue in terms of how money back? wife still on h-4.

did encounter similar situation or know how can fix 2007 w-2 ?
