Nissan Micra Vibe Problem!?

have 1996 nissan micra vibe. has passed mot no problems. went start other night , not start. battery fine , under bonnet stuff looks ok.

think may choke pretty cold when started up.
when turn key in ignition, there noise if battery flat isnt. quite hard describe wondered if else has had similar problem , if choke?
