Will a Subaru Forester pull a trailer?

have my05 subaru forester. australian version 2.5l
naturally aspirated , use pull boat , trailer.
1 time filled trailer dirt take tip when weighed on way out of tip worked out approximately 1.2 tonne of dirt have been in trailer. (1200kg) trailer unbraked said tip wasn't far. did have use low gear selector when taking off on hills torque.
when moved sydney brisbane trip under 1000km. had our stuff put in huge move trailer. had 2 axles , braked. there around 2 tonne in trailer maybe more. had fridge, washing machine, clothes , tv, lounge suite, 3 wooden beds. table , chairs made of wood. , other odds , sods might have in house.
guess depends on if expecting able tow @ reasonable pace or tow no lag v8 might provide.
if tow on daily basis maybe wont you, subaru's 2.5 litre engines ballsy.

i thinking trading down smaller vehicle better gas mileage need able pull boat , four-wheeler trailers.
