original , broadest definition, art (from latin ars, meaning "skill" or "craft") product or process of effective application of body of knowledge, using set of skills; meaning preserved in such phrases "liberal arts" , "martial arts". however, in modern use of word, rose prominence after 1750, “art” commonly understood skill used produce aesthetic result (hatcher, 1999). britannica online defines "the use of skill , imagination in creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences can shared others"[1]. of these definitions of word, artistic works have existed long humankind, pre-historic art contemporary art.

beauty value associated innate , emotional perception of life's affirmative , meaningful aspects within objects in perceived world —ie. vitality, fertility, health, happiness, goodness, , love. cognition of "beauty" involves interpretation of objects being in balance , harmony nature, in turn elicits sense , experience of attraction, affection, , pleasure.

in profound sense, beauty said engender salient experience of positive reflection regard meaning of one's own being within natural life.
