earlier versions of os has onboard driver of fx1170...you can install epson fx1170 adding printer on com. on xp hit start printers&faxes on right side click add printer add printer wizard come out click next setlocal printer next, next again check lpt1 default setting,then next find epson on manufacturer find fx1170 on right side of box click next set default click yes ckick next ,next printer test page , finish.
