Pilots commuting to base?
depends on schedule , whether you're talking major airline or commuter airline. cannot afford miss trip, you're going have travel day unless have late "show time". eats time off. did regional pilot 2 of 4 years flew particular company , sucked because didn't have time off begin (typically no more 4 days in row) , hard affording crash pad or motel @ base (i tried both) on crappy pay regional pilots receive. in addition, traveling non-rev can nightmare if not airline work for, because going "space available" means bumped own employees , average flights pretty full these days. around holidays can hard, if work carrier traveling on.
all pilots,
how bad have commute base? when have time off have 2 or 3 days in row can enjoy home life? also, how bad live in la , have airline based in houston texas? thank you!
