Why do fridge magnets stick to each other rather than experience the attraction and repulsion seen in other?
if talking flat "sheet magnet" types, it's because have banded magnetic pattern, kind of this:
nnnnnnnn
ssssssss
nnnnnnnn
ssssssss
nnnnnnnn
ssssssss
when come near each other, n bands attracted s bands , vice-versa.
if rotate them , slide them across 1 another, can find bands aligned, because slide in "jumpy" fashion. try out!
i wondering... why fridge magnets stick each other rather experience attraction , repulsion seen in other "regular
magnets?
