Need help to clear Search History from Windows XP?

how delete drop-down list of past searches?

can clear google search history google search box, google toolbar, or browser. we've included instructions 3 methods below.

clearing google search box history

search history displays in search box on google homepage stored browser, not google. instructions appear below disabling search history in common browsers. if browser isn't listed, suggest consulting online support center.

microsoft internet explorer
1. go "tools" menu.
2. select "internet options" , "content" tab.
3. within "personal information" area, select "autocomplete."
4. click on "clear forms." can un-check "forms" box in window keep information being stored in future.
5. click "ok" exit.

alternatively, can delete individual entries search history using down arrow key highlight previous search, pressing delete key once.

msn
if you're using microsoft network (msn), changes made in internet explorer (ie) take effect in msn browser. after making changes in ie, you'll need sign out of , msn changes take effect.

mozilla firefox
1. go "tools" menu.
2. select "options" > "privacy" > "saved form information."
3. click "clear" , un-check box.
4. click "ok" exit.

safari
1. go "safari" menu , select "preferences."
2. menus pop up, select "autofill."
3. go "other forms" line , select "edit" button.
4. list of sites autofill being applied, select "google.com" > "remove" > "done."

clearing google toolbar history

clear search history drop-down text box on google toolbar:

1. click on google logo on toolbar access drop-down menu.
2. select "clear search history" option.

if you'd disable toolbar's search history, please click "options" button on toolbar , un-check box next "drop-down search history."

if have google toolbar 4.0 installed, can clear toolbar's search history starting enter search term in toolbar's search box. when drop-down search history appears, click "clear history" link.

please note clears search history google toolbar, entirely separate search history stored browser.
