I need you help ! tough desision, sell 89 s10 4x4 with 50,000 mi to buy a subaru or keep the s10 ?

here's deal. student attending vocational school auto tech. own 89 s10 4x4 50,000 mi on it. have drive 40 mins (about 40 miles ) house school everyday , way gas prices rising gas getting expensive me. live in rural area in winter roads covered snow , ice.

s10 4x4 dont me wrong. have done allot of work on , love having getting not economical drive everyday

family has owned many subaru's , absolutely love them! awd , 20 - 30 mpg!

question is, ? trade s10 4x4 gets 15 mpg subaru gets 20 - 30 mpg ? , needing 4wd threw out year?


looking horse power/speed/and performance.
willing allot of work make nice car.
