How far does a plane need to travel to take off from and aircraft carrier?

spent time on carrier in hay day. however, answer above didn't mention how "far" said how fast. anyways, catapult it's termed 300 ft long, or exact length of football field. sounds big, it's not.

can shoot f-14, f-18, or other airplane 0-150 in 3 seconds!!!!! pilots rev engines full throttle, full flaps down , away go off wild blue yonder.

in regards answer above, ideal takeoff speed f-14 not 85 knots. around 95 mph. there's no way in hell f-14 fly anywhere straight water @ speed.

air craft carriers face wind when launching airplanes. wind on deck give planes better lift , them take off better. when getting thrown @ 140-150 mph catapult, wind fromthe headwind simulate 20 knots of air on wings.

anyways, in top gun, while tom cruise getting ready go danger zone, he's catapulted off 300 foot runway!!

oh way, there approximately 4 catapults on carrier.

how far plane need travel take off , aircraft carrier? f-14 tomcat... physics problem based off of opening clip on "top gun".
thanks!!!
