How do you reset an alarm for a 99 Mercedes Benz ML320? Put new battery in and can't get alarm off.?

without scanner try doing following , hope helps.....

1. insert remote control key ignition switch , rotate in position (2).

2. remove key , press lock button , hold while pressing unlock button 5 times.

3. release buttons , press 1 of 2 buttons once.

4. recheck system , if fails repeat steps, if unsuccessful need call dealership.

we tried resetting computer in car when hook alarm still goes off. can't figure out how alarm off.
