Help painting cork boards?

okay i'm going putting 8 "tiles" of cork board on 1 wall in room. i've picked out colors match wall color paint cork itself. however, mom suggested spray paint them aren't sure if spray paint won't stick or something. found idea, had used paint paint can , paintbrushes, etc. i'm looking easier way, , spray paint seemed better. appreciated :] thanksss
