own own marketing company , have been involved in internet industry long time quite clued up/experienced in pretty forms of web promotion , marketing.

answer question profit depends on you're selling, how selling , to. social network advertising can see reap profits or sew losses due high advertising costs , low conversions, fantastic sources traffic!!

reason social network advertising effective places countless amounts of millions of people go on daily basis, watching mtv @ same time, it’s maximum exposure brand services. other major benefit of advertising on social networking sites can highly target ads place there.

rather traditional advertising, viewed random audience, advertisers can use these networks target ads @ specific audience; can target in many ways such geographic location, sex, age range, gender, single, married etc.

way adds successful , if online business/service you're promoting it's idea if use these services, although warned, can expensive (depending on size , popularity of network).

run off what's called cpm system (cost per thousand impressions). means every time advert pops on web page it's classed 1 impression, every time reaches 1000 impressions site charge cpm premium (again cost depend on size , popularity of network).

can costly approach if small business of major web 2.0 sites have many members having many millions of pages advert pop on, have minimum spend can quite high (facebook has $50,000 monthly minimum investment add banners).

i'd @ starting page/fake profile on social networks , drive traffic site, it's called smo (social media optimization) , works f*****g treat, believe me!!

keen user of social networks , have utilized power own seo , revenue generating benefit. create fake profile , invite many of target audience can, you'll surprised how many people accept request!

can on sites facebook using 'groups' feature. if you're selling games consoles, example, search within social network 'ps3/xbox 360/play station' etc , click on 'groups' tab seclude results groups only. have @ groups you're left with.

members of these groups, hundreds of thousands, people know know interested in product/niche. go through members , request ton of them friends, called building list , online services make on half of sales (using backend sales).

need create group of own service/product (the name of group needs eye catching , inventive), in fake profile, invite of 'friends list' (prospective buyers) group (when friends list, way, i'm talking 2,000+ friends in list, send many friends requests possibly can).

trigger viral reaction in form of 'the butterfly effect' , spread brand/service/website through network members view site through third party referral (the group invitation).

referrals third party (the friend invited them group) or expert in field trusted prospectives have no reason lie.

there 3 main objectives here:
1- drive targeted traffic site
2- create brand awareness website, free of charge

3- high pr/authority links site (bookmark pages you’ve left these backlinks, increase authority of page pointing site)

don't need advertise in social networks, if you're willing put effort in you'll reap rewards, trust me. utilize web 2.0 work you; use sites such squidoo, youtube, blogger, wordpress name few , cover internet content rather spending on 1 add in 1 social network.

little heads if decide use social networking advertising- add banners pretty worst form of web promotion, ctr (click through rate) low , not cost effective @ all, form of advertising withing network. hot tip: text link ads far more effective premium banner ads!
