Should my husband and I renew the service contract on our heater furnace?

don't pay service contract. heater came free 20 year warranty. have come once year clean , inspect.

can decide if it's worth renew contract. if it's within financial means pay contract or not. if want play russian roulette or not on thing breaking down.

should research on life-span of heater , it's track record on breakage. being new or newish no guarantee it's in condition. should have confirmed age , condition of before bought place.

must nice landlord make renters pay responsibility.

we bought our house few months ago , think heater new previous homeowner in 5/07, , in order keep w/ 5 yr warranty have renew service contract before 5/08. should or waste of money? ideas on how service contract costs?
