I don't know what to make of my current uni position, what should i do?

ive been @ uni on month , ive found myself in position had feeling id end in, not sure what, (if anything) should do.

got uni through clearing , couldn't accommodation wanted, found place outside of halls. made hard make friends during freshers week , didn't end getting know in first couple of days , nights out ended going home few days.
ive joined sports team , went out on first social, enjoyed nothing has happened since.

im few weeks in course, , still don't have 'set of mates' thaught id end chill during day, , nights out (im not big fan of going out alot @ night.)
im stuck, im not depressed situation cuz im not type of person, , im hour away home on train go @ weekends see girlfriend, comes night in week.

just, now, im considering commuting, focusing on course, enjoying sports, going home whenever have nothing do...
logical solution? im abit lost because says how uni best experiance of lives, @ moment more enjoyed life during alevels, , dont want turn around parents/friends/relatives , turn round , im commuting now, cuz feel let down not become apart of 'student life' raves about...
, think people might think im doing because of girlfriend, thats not case because doing great in routine in now.

advice appreciated!
