Where is the best view in Minneapolis' State Theatre?
state , orpheum theaters wonderful vintage theaters! of course main floor best. below seating charts at....the inside isle seats best (rather side seats on either side---and quickest sold.)
balcony isn't bad either--again closer front , center. i've been in far side in balcony , wasn't bad--just bring binoculars!
state seats 1300 on main floor, additional 850 seats in balcony/loge area.

orpheum , pantages theatre box offices each open @ 5 p.m. day-of-show , 2 hours prior showtime matinee performances.

state theatre history
feb 5, 1921: state theatre opens on former site of walker family homestead. cost approximately $1 million , designed chicago architect j.e.o. pridmore. @ time, considered technologically advanced , elaborate theatre in us. original floor glass, allowed direct lighting underneath. state boasted first driven air-conditioning system in minneapolis- pumps, pipes & vents delivered cool air using artesian water 840 feet underground, keeping temperature @ 72 degrees. opening night program included silent film, newsreel , travelogue.
1989: city of minneapolis purchases lasalle block, includes state theatre, $11 million.
nov 1991: after 3 years of restoration, state reopens minnesota opera's production of carousel.the restoration costs $8.8 million.
i plan go see show @ state theatre...while have lived in minneapolis before, haven't been theatre. understand, there main floor, loge, , balconies. best view of action on stage?
