What are some advantages and disadvantages for Canada East in joining Confederation?

there 3 main reasons. ( there more though..)

1. trade. there reciprocity between , canada. trading less or no tax. means things came in cheaper canadians or people west canada. when had war ( between north , south) britain supported south side. means canada, supported south side. sadly, south side lost there weird connection between , britain.
- because of this. called off reciprocity between 2 countries. means more expensive goods.

2. fenians. fenians... beleive irish americans. upset because british took on land. decided invade canada's border. people along border lived in fear. if canada east confed... have bigger army.

3. railway!!! goods come british. since canada east isn't anywhere near britain... goods come us, railways, export goods canada. what's bad may ask... had high taxes. if there railway across canada, goods wouldn't have go through us.
