Need advice on choosing a Ford or Mazda that is good on gas mileage?

no brainer if looking ford-- escape hybrid. 32mpg, works mom-car.

best thing 2008 escape hybrid qualifies whopping $3000 federal tax credit, means don't have own years recoup cost of hybrid system on regular escape in gas savings. federal tax rebate makes cost same comparably-equipped regular escape.

love how advanced technology in escape hybrid makes cost less than normal cars maintain:

- escape hybrid uses regenerative braking not need brake job until 100,000 miles. (try in regular car!)

- escape hybrid uses transmission single fixed gearset-- no gear-shifting wear-and-tear of normal car. has no clutch, torque converter or cvt belts wear out.

- escape hybrid has no starter, alternator or timing belt wear out.

- escape hybrid has 8-year / 100,000 mile warranty on hybrid battery. if fails before (virtually unheard-of), ford replaces free. don't let scare myths how expensive replace hybrid battery because it's non-issue.

it's great choice in day , age of ridiculous gas prices.

mazda tribute hybrid way rebadged ford escape hybrid. can go route too.

what ford , mazda cars (model years 2000 , up) smaller/good on gas mileage? trying find mom car!
