Engine rattling noise from 1989 mazda 323?

own 89 mazda 323. when accelerate , reach 2500 3500 rmp, engine makes horrendous rattling noise it's full of marbles. not sure what's going on. noise started around same time added product thicken oil , stop leak i'm not sure if has it. thing car when accelerate quickly, engine start sputter , chug along instead of smoothly accelerating. pretty sure i'll end giving tune information great i'm trying save money
