What was the event going on where people from Scotland were sent to Ulster Ireland (making them Scot-Irish)?

hey jc, haven't seen around in while. hope all's , had nice christmas. hi mom of us.

can give simplified answer question.

wasn't 1 event made them move. it's more there series of things happening between british monarchy , irish catholics...and scotch irish got swept along it.

when british monarch excommunicated pope, british responded creating church of england. things continued stretch relationship between brits , neighbors north, group of laws enacted called "penal laws". gist resisted joining church of england breaking law , law make painful them continue resist. scotch irish weren't catholic, living amongst catholics in ireland. had own religions, particularly presbyterianism, , got swept in catholics "non-conformists". pressures being put on catholics being heaped on scots living in ireland. that's when got fed , started emigrating british colonies in america.

hope helps little. if have dates on walker immigration, might able give little more info on thinking , why moved when did.

the walkers in family scottish, , in genealogy research have found in ulster ireland, wanted find out more this. help.
