I need tips on advertising a portrait studio in a small town with none to little money.?

have invested had portrait studio opened in small town. little had put advertising in our newspaper. turns out no 1 reads paper haven't had come , it's been on month. had carnival out here 2 weeks ago , put stand , gave out coupons , free chances win portraits. came said had no idea there studio. need how advertise studio. don't have money put advertising @ time , i've been calling people , offering free 8x10's try out no 1 calling back. help! have worked hard come far fall on face. know it' slow starting out used money expecting little come in don't have enough put towards rent building or home. know @ do, need ideas on how word out there.
