if going kinetic, connection points going have bearings , shafts. former can plastic metal better , making shafts of metal lesson in failure. bearing mounts fail unless long enough or 2 bearing separated space. on second glance, perhaps weight here above single bearing @ base , oddly cut out "new moon" shape. easier build serious bearing @ bottom.
if want shapes show, realistic material fiberglass - laid building boat hull. possible build of laminated wood or wood panels latter have problems long seams along edge. have calculations of volume , weight of material because balance sensitive , want hollow areas add lead weights adjust balance.
