My Canon510 printer problem. ?

here steps may make better

1. check obvious. out of ink or toner? printer getting power? cables securely fastened? if have laser printer, set online mode?
2.are other print jobs blocking way? go start | control panel | printers , other hardware | printers , faxes. double-click icon printer open documents window , clear pending print jobs selecting cancel documents printer drop-down menu (see figure 1).
3. try printing test page printer, not windows xp. printers have built-in test function that's activated holding down 1 or more buttons while printer starting up. check printer's user manual instructions. if page prints successfully, know problem either connection or software in computer.
4. check printer's usb or parallel connection.
5. try printing simple windows' notepad. open notepad, go start | programs | accessories | notepad, type few lines of text in document, , try printing it. if prints, problem software program tried print from.
6.try printing using windows xp's generic printer driver. open , run add printer wizard. when install printer software screen, select generic under manufacturer , generic/text under printers (see figure 2).
7.select no want use printer default printer? (see figure 3). click next.
8. when prompted on next screen, tell windows xp print test page. if page prints, have problem installed printer driver. either update or reinstall driver.
