Toyota prius ECU problem?

have toyota prius 05 model , left 2 weeks on holiday. once came car not start had towed toyota garage. once there took them 3 days find out there fault ecu. charge me hefty bill of around 1000pounds. warranty not cover cost cars mileage 10300miles.

cannot trust them entirely , wandering if there warranty on ecu , how long. problems these occur pretty toyota prius because apparently toyota gives me 1 year warranty on new ecu.
