since have dedicated room work with, have considerations before selecting equipment. difference between theater , amazing theater 50% room , 50% equipment.

decisions make:

1. sound proofing. if room big enough can build room within room staggering new studwalls, floor , ceiling , placing special material between walls. floors suspended motor mounts in car.

2. splaying side walls. if build inner-room should make side walls unparallel. 20 foot deep room should 2 feet wider @ minimum.

3. breaking ceiling. whether build inner room or not, should change shape of ceiling flat to? build lattice framework looks swells of wave below, , have drywalled, there endless possibilities here. curved ceiling hangs actual ceiling , doesn't extend walls in direction. allows stunning lighting designs.

4. raised seating. if planning rows, want pick seat proper wires can installed hardwire control crestron, amx, etc... best choice have eyes center of screen vertically , horizontally. if you're married, might want split difference , share best seating position.

5. before construction begins, equipment should chosen correct wiring cna installed in walls. not use 16/2 or 16/4 in dedicated theater. that's surround family room wire. recommend 12 or 14 gauge non oxydizing high strand count speaker wire.

6. important components in system speakers, display , remote control. items interface , hence show best return dollar spent. rack full of boxes far more forgiving mediocre interface devices!

7. projectors , screens available adjust full width of 2.35:1 motion picture , films can displayed @ 24 fps, @ theater. substantial improvement on standard 16:9 fixed 30 fps limitation. several companies making projectors now. runco, vidicron , jvc anamorphic lenses.

8. speakers can hidden behind faux front wall, if don't build inner room. side , rear speakers can hidden in architectural detail walls. picking speakers far more complex can write here.

9. controlling theater can nightmare or breeze. depends on control system , programmer. today, choose between crestron, amx or lifeware. there less costly, lower performance options such rti, pronto, nevo work pretty well.

10. separate processors , amplifiers great i've had luck high end receivers yamaha, marantz , pioneerelite also, , cost less money. depending on rest of theater, might able use marantz's lower end line, denon.

11. cables don't have best, don't buy bargain basement stuff either. use ethereal lower cost installations , tributaries in nicer rooms.

12. regardless of theater design, hire professional room accoustics, sound calibration , display calibration smpte standards. isf certified tech adequate display, haa certifed tech okay , afforable accoustics , thx level 2 tech qualified calibrate audio. note: room accoustics costs most, , valuable!
