Who decides what we call art ......?

art intent. encompasses cave painting in lascaux movie in theaters. life has been art. loved arts , crafts child, loved cooking , using creativity in cake design. when in high school, loved make illustrations reports , learned how use photoshop , animate little videos. in college, learned anatomy , figure drawing, art history covered span of human artistic efforts. in art history courses, learned appreciate art worthy of ridicule. artist supplies intent , perspective. audience interprets , relates it.

happens, ended pulling interests 1 area: special makeup effects. today, sculpture, painting, anatomy, current events, true crime, illustration, concept design, research, prosthetics, beauty makeup, , more come play. vantage, many things art: whether photograph of forlorn figure, single frame movie, realistic sculpture, animatronic head pieces actors, , 3d characters brought life hundreds of artists.

each person determine art them. me, it's in life. love great installation in aquarium shows me how big blue humpback whale is. it's fabricated sculpture, fiberglass, resin, airbrushed, sculpted, molded, , cast...and yet little children @ in awe. turn on tv , see episode of batman animated series , flash when kid , though "cool". think how each cel made, had pitch concept network exec, how example of "reductive design" allows maximum artistic quality , easier animate. have friend every day proud part of endless numbers of people worked on titanic, or in dogma, tore hole in air...

beyond surface. if see something, art, try imagine went it. advertisements, web design, fonts, toothbrush, puppets on favorite kids show, wig on favorite actor/actress (you know, 1 sat @ , hand-attached thousands of hairs to)... amazed how art , design out there. everywhere: yahoo avatar, shoe on foot, graphic t-shirt on back.

commercial art art? did need ask? commercial art pervasive of all. there no movie, comic, poster, piece of furniture out there or single object in universe haven't said, "well love that?" love 1 movie? if do, guarantee anywhere 100-2,000+ people worked on it. i've met lot of commercial artists. sometimes, money, artistic knowledge , arts background give them foundation draw on make things everyday people take granted. 3d artist? can bet there lot of them out there know anatomy, can sculpt , paint @ss off... , go animate turtle! these same guys i've seen make predator mask or exquisitely refined figure painting.

i've loved comics, wonderful medium. loved them when geeks wore x-men shirt , wouldn't caught dead in it. now? well, let's welcome new golden age of comics. in fan heaven watching comic based movies time...dark knight here come!!!

said, if don't pee in jar on exhibit, keep walking. unmade bed? make feel? feel nothing? ok. maybe bed wakes every day @ 5am, toiling away, wishing home hour. maybe empty , that's way dead girl's mom left shrine; untouched. maybe wife left , never came back, , husband's bed never made anymore... maybe symbolizes how people give things meaning , without people. or it's bed , wanted test camera in particular type of light.

how skilled art have be? not much, can enough point across if witty. had animation teacher used these little stick figure things mtv, 1 of them jimi hendrix stick figure, cool! robot chicken fun, , character he-man or barbie dolls...

oh, have seen art pisses me off though. that's fine, because purpose of art makes me made makes me think. that's why provocative: provokes you! makes think opinion is, on religion, politics (hello satirical cartoon), human body, culture, , philosophy.

myself, have used makeup make creatures, portray violence, show heroism, i've concealed actor's vitiligo marks on hand , face, made people ill tell loving story of husband , coming terms death. used on young girl @ shop hide cut marks wouldn't in trouble. have donated lessons , products high school drama class, have worked photographers create images portray concepts life , environment. i've worked people make medical prosthetics, heroes. friend missing leg took me on tour prosthetist's shop , saw how make leg , how add in artistic design of patients choice. 1 day, want great things silicone, both film in near future, , perhaps patients in future.

art intent, thought, perspective, , opinion. provides definition. if counter beliefs , aesthetics, provides definition believe in or enjoy.

last thought- room of adults see dot on board. when asked see, answers dull , finite: dot, circle, sphere, etc. room of kindergarten kids see: ufo coming down landing, button, sun, moon, shield, orange, bead, basketball, frisbee.... perspective interesting thing relative. in art in other part of life.

lets honest there forms of art that..... silly, take unmade bed ..... art dont think so, say, should or should not come under art bracket
