US economic stimulus - is it taxable income in Canada?
report income made worldwide on tax return in canada if resident in canada (living here more 180 days per year)
being said, stimulus check income? need contact department issued it. if reported income in usa, income here in canada , reported in canadian dollars using exchange rate on day received stimulus cheque on line 130 of t1 return.
keep in mind if report item income, not taxable because there offsetting deduction it, eg. workers compensation income received in canada. type of income included total income when filing t1 return , not taxable income because there equal , offsetting deduction under calculation of deductions total income on t1 return.
total income, net income , taxable income lines on t1 return can altogether different :)
i live in canada, , received economic stimulus payment. payment considered taxable income (i assume under line 130 "other income") on canadian personal income tax return?
