MPG of a typical aircraft? How eco-friendly is flying?

depends on fly. if you're looking @ cessna 172.. not worth it... fuel higher octane worse enironment. don't me wrong, love flying.. it's not overly practical applications.
however, there aircraft little more economical depending on how far plan on flying. there ultralight aircraft today 'real' airplanes.. use car fuel , relatively economical use. they'll cruise @ 60mph 120mph depending on looking at.
have enclosed cabins.. , fantastic.. , fly great.
options, fun.. gliding. longest flight in glider little on 4 hours... can travel distances although it's not overly practical so... have back. but, it's lot of fun.
so, average mpg airplane... no such thing 'cause every airplane different. more environmentally friendly... no... might me better others.. might better and/or worse cars, again, depeding on you're driving. it's in get.. fly.. how flying do.. type of fuel uses... etc.
i'd still recommend take flying if you're thinking it.. balls of fun... better sex!

i'm thinking of starting fly more opposed driving or taking train. more environmentally friendly? what's mpg of average aircraft?
