Why don't commercial aircrafts have parachutes for passanger evacuation ?

sure enough, don't think shutes easy use or there plenty of time make mind whether u wanna jump or not, again, life vests bit tricky if inflate them before going out of plane push roof , trap in there once immersed in water.when pilots use control of plane due broken hydraulics can still keep airbourne 20 min or so.and knowing they'll eventully crash wonder why don't have option of jumping...

i keep asking myself why watch air crash investigation on ng , there 15 min before plane crashes -probabay enough many people jump? , why can't pilots of cargo planes catapultate themselves?
