first step define market. profile best customer--age, sex, address, geography, income, etc., etc. then, place ads customer can found.

use different advertising. start craig's list , other free sites offer such services in area.

put business in yahoo local , google maps. ask friends , satisfied business customers write reviews business.

radio program (listened target customer) director's system @ home or work in exchange radio advertising.

classified ads in local paper, make minimum purchase read headline gives phone number "recorded information"--non-threatening customers--or web address can promote business.

thought put ads in small give-aways find in local wal-mart exit areas , coffee shops.

must track calls , business. contacts you, ask or got name. see of purchase systems you. tells not sources calls ones send callers buy--essential know doing halfway serious marketing.

trick "coattail" else has list of customers of profile. example of game store sends out regular bills or promotions. provide insert mailing , pay fraction of cost of mailing out same piece solo people. cost production of piece--likely abuot 1-2.5 cents each--plus whatever can negotiate insertion of piece--likely 3-5 cents each--plus whatever charge access customers--likely 5-10 cents each.
