roman sculpture copied ancient greek sculpture evolved it's own separate form.

greeks - mythology, athletics.
romans - emperors, historical events, real people.
style:
greek - archaic: stiff, blocky. classical: idealized. hellenistic: idealized , naturalistic (variety).
roman - people naturalistic, emperors idealized.
example:
greek - janson: polykleitos, doryphoros.
kissick: polyclitus, doryphorus.
roman - janson: augustus of primaporta.
kissick: patrician holding portrait heads of ancestors.
