My printer wont print on the paper?

i've been trying print essay, printer's not working. whenever it's getting started pulls paper down half way, thinks it's pulling paper through printer, it's not, , it's not printing on anything, thinks is.
how solve problem?
tried putting lots of paper in, still did it, tried doing 1 @ time, still did it.
ugh, essay's due tomorrow i've gotta printed, , (obviously) teacher wont believe me if printer down.
