How do I change the battery in my 2004 Volkswagen Passat?

easy way - go sears , have them change you.

if want yourself. need replacement battey - i.e. @ sears or other auto parts store - tell them want battery 2004 passat.

need couple wrenches loosen bolts hold battery cable terminals battery posts. bolts hold terminals on 1/2" or 3/8", might metric on vw? wire brush cleaning battery terminals , of anti-corrosion spray. can @ auto parts store.

disconnect negative , positive terminals old battery. need remove bolts physically secure battery car. pull old battery out. clean battery cable ends wire brush, spray them anti-corrosion stuff, drop in new battery, secure it, reconnect ends.

if car has radio security code need re-enter radio work again. reset clock , go.

wear junky cloths , rubber gloves. if old battery leaking eat holes in cloths , irritate skin.
