Subaru fails to restart after intial warmup in severe cold weather?

under severe cold conditions -25 cel, if leave parked outside overnight, in morning, start, first shot, no problem. let run 10 15 minutes, shut off. if try "restart" within few hours, fails start. yet engine cranking, bat terminal on alternator @ 14.2 , batter @ 12.4 volts. while temperature beings warmup during day, -17 cel, start.

issue occurs when has been exposed severe cold weather hours.

don't understand is, why starts initially, allows warmup, allows me drive corner store morning coffee no problem, yet 1 hour later fails start. when fails start, engine cranks fine, keep trying until battery close complete drain. (***putting gas pedal floor doesn't help***). after make sit there few hours, presto, starts again.

note ...i have problem under severe cold conditions ...at -10c -15c, problem has never / ever been experienced

@ complete loss.

please help
