Sharing a new printer on a wireless network?

have had lexmark installed desk top lap top access lexmark went belly added hp desk top works great,now need add hp laptop can't find on desktop.do need go add printer on laptop?it asks me name connection want use , name of printer,or go thru add printer in desk top control panel , right click on printer want use select properties,click share tab,click share printer name it,should name hp photosmart 4200? or , go laptop click add new printer or add printer?? didn't see add new printer , browse what? hp photosmart 4200?ok can see have rough idea looking off if i'm off.i haven't tried yet , need printer software installed on laptop,i shouldn't because on desktop , network,i'm using desktop via laptop??thanks
