98 Nissan Maxima or 00 Chevy Monte Carlo? Which should I pick? Help.?

have choice of 2 cars. 1 98 nissan maxima. nice looking car, inside , out. runs , drives has 300,000 miles. these known run on 400,000 miles , 500,000. engines i've heard don't know first hand.
other option 2000 chevy monte carlo. not sure if it's ls or ss, i'll find out tomorrow. 1 has 186,000 miles. car $300.00 more. haven't heard how many miles these go before dying. if know either cars please let me know. me pick. i'm going pick 1 or other on saturday. need know 1 should buy. paying $1200 98 or $1500 00. i've heard maxima gets 22/25 mpg city/hwy. seen on internet monte carlo gets 20 city , 32 hwy. know if that's true. help. hope make right decision.....
