per know if ur in construction field government has introduced works contract tax insted of service tax on commercial construction services.

in such case u can not take set off or credit of input service payment of such tax.

service introduced on 16.5.2007 time rate of tax 2%
subsequenty government has amended , rate 4% on whole value of construction
