What's it like working at a move theater?

i've worked @ 3 different movie theaters first 3 jobs.

first, usher. second, projectionist (and backup usher while movies playing), , third usher/customer service/food service all-in-one worker.

ask typical questions:

have ever worked in customer service?
work team? (at amc theaters, went around in 'teams' of ushers, clean massively trashed theaters sold out).
have ever operated cash register , handled money?
have ever worked in food service?

general stuff that. don't know position going for, don't sweat it. it's simple job. usher jobs kind of gross. swept condoms on floor to...people's nacho cheese somehow got on seat , got everywhere. heck, standing on counter during slow times @ amc theaters...wiping ketchup wall 12 feet on concession stand. remember asking co-worker, "what somebody's hotdog doing here?!?" trying figure out how ketchup got 12 feet air on wall. lol

try away usher possible, if that's going for. places (like amc, learned...) training people in usher duties , concessions start out - sort of 'move up' other positions. box office/tickets , projection (requires lots of projection experience , have start off , work way projection, if have projection experience) best positions go for, i'd say. if don't want lot of stress, box office/tickets best , easiest position.

usher, cleaning theaters, picking cups off floor, sweeping popcorn smeared butter, mopping main concession stand floor (it tile surrounded rug). taking trash out of of trash cans in/outside of theater, , taking them out dumpster. may asked work in concessions stand, worst part other usher. usher can walk around , have little 'fun' talking others while working. concession people have stand there , deal huge line of people don't have clue want. can't decide on drink, or 'decide' after decision , want pour half of drink out making. don't know kind of candy want, confusing.

that's of duties can think of...other filling concession napkins, straws, butter (in dispensing machines), etc.

oh yeah, ushers have post stand @ , tear and/or verify tickets. @ amc theaters worked at...there main post usher tore tickets. concession stand behind point. on either side, there other ushers waiting verify tickets go by. sort of two-step verification process. people put ticket stubs in pocket , don't want pull out again show you. want 'sneak' food in , try bribe , trouble. of them bold , walk right without showing ticket stub paid for, and/or bring outside food or drinks (which of course, not allowed in movie theater). these people hostile sometimes, , it's not worth 'stopping' them because can violent. job paid $5.15 hour @ time. wasn't fight silly that. our security poor , there wasn't 'call' people that. frustrating job. don't usher. best experience - box office cashier if can.

better have cashier experience movie theater, projectionist/concession experience. because after quit movie theater, if needed take retail job, cashier , have cashier experience. if usher...or projectionist...and concessions, retail stores won't hire you. that's why ticket booth best. @ least gets little further of other positions do, though of them crap positions , pay little can them.

i'm going apply job @ local move theater , want know it's like. kind of tasks assigned?
