My Epson Printer's "on" button keeps blinking?

have epson stylus r280 printer, , got usb chord (which dumb of epson not include that) aaand i've got set right, "on" button keeps blinking green, yet ink button steady orange light. loaded paper , did right, now...now when ask print, says it's doing it, , doesn't it. ques when printer apparently work.
how can printer work right???
(this limited time lol...i have print article off tomorrow afternoon)
