How do I listen for a bad rocker arm on a pontiac 403? How do I know what one is bad?

take valve cover off of side suspect has bad arm, place towel on fender under hood , have start engine , let idle while inspect rocker arms moving, able hear them better , see them visually, not hurt engine doing this. dont drive valve cover off , dont rev it, let idle. little bits of oil squirt out of ends of pushrod , splatter around bit nothing serious, thats towel/rags for. if dont see odd, put valve cover on , same thing on other side.

i want replace rocker arm might bad, don't know 1 when motor running. 1979 pontiac trans 403. appreciated.
