Does it matter if the boat is for sweet or salt water? (25ft)?
disagree... other two.
boats (though not all) "better" boats made 1 specific purpose or other... salt water boats tend heavier, , have deeper drafts (meaning hulls go down deeper in water) , have higher freeboard (meaning sides of boat extend higher... because sea rougher, , has deeper swells, higher waves, etc. fresh water lakes. course, exception here of "great lakes"... can rough (some argue rougher) seas...
so... same? no... not boat same.
25 foot center console fishing boat (for example) built off shore - dramaticaly different in shape , weight same boat built inland lakes.
can used in both fresh & salt water? can. more comfortable, , safe, using boat built coastal or off shore waters in fresh water... other way around... , weather, wind, , waves might prevent "fresh water" boat going out... "salt water" designed boat can - no problems...
other differences? yes, motors, cleats, hand rails, electrical systems , electronics, , electrical or metal... different on boats designed , built salt water... (salt water, , salt water mist, salt water air, etc... has way of taking best of , making havoc of it...) so, these items bit more expensive, , bit better protected fresh water equivalents.
suggestions... learn differences before buy "next" boat... meanwhile, enjoy boat have can - ever can... if trailering boat... idea flush engine , rinse off fresh water (especially crome , metal) before stowing away...
happy & safe boating!
